Daintree is a charming Far North Qld settlement surrounded by the tropical rainforests of the McDowell Ranges. Located 1 791 km n-w of Brisbane, Daintree was first settled in 1870s and early industries included timber, dairying & beef. Today the main focus is on tourism. Saltwater crocodiles can be seen in the creeks and tributaries of the Daintree River flowing past the town. Daintree NP & Cape Tribulation (2 km west).
